Love, passion and energy

These are the keywords that characterize me when photographing and that is something I want to share with you. I love quality over quantity, therefore all workshops will be given in small groups (or individual if preferred). This way, there is enough room for individual coaching and guidance. I want to share the feeling I have when I’m photographing a beautiful landscape and the feeling I get from being outdoors. I offer a diverse program on any preferred level. You’ll get the possibility to learn or improve your photography in the most beautiful Dutch landscapes. The workshops can be given both in Dutch and in English. If you want to book a workshop for a different date or with a group, please contact me for the options.

Basic Landscape Photography

Ever since the invention photography in 1831, has Landscape photography been one of the most important types of photography, but is also seen as one of the most difficult. Light is constantly changing, weather can be demanding, the seasons change and so on. A good landscape photo makes you wonder, will inspire you, and it’ll stay on your mind. Answers to these questions, important camera settings and techniques will be discussed in the basic landscape photography workshop. This workshop will teach you everything you need to make a good start in landscape photography. The basic landscape photography workshop will be given in Lauwersmeer National Park. Advanced Landscape Photography

If you feel like you want to take your photography a step further, for instance after following my Basic Landscape Photography workshop, you can join my Advanced Landscape Photography workshop. Here we will go into further detail about making compositions, how to read the landscape and how to make the right choices in terms of composition. Photography starts with your eyes, you have to observe the landscape and wander around. Do you see lines or elements to enrich your composition? Is the light the way you want it? The most important thing is to get balance and harmony in your picture. This can be achieved both by composition and light. It is a choreography of elements that need to work together in order to get a killer image, this workshop will focus on that part of photography. The location for this workshop will be Stavoren, a fantastic Frisian city next to the IJsselmeer (the biggest lake of the Netherlands). There are lots and lots of opportunities here. The little city is beautiful, there are dykes and beaches providing with all the elements we need for this workshop.

Master Landscape Photography

If you feel like you need to go deeper into details of light manipulation and the art-side of landscape photography, you might like the Master Landscape Photography workshop. Here the focus lies on the manipulation of light. We will be talking about filters a lot! There are some filters that cannot be replaced by software and should be in your kit if you want to take your photography to the highest level possible. We’re going to look at several options that can help gain higher dynamic range, and we are going to talk about (gradual) ND filters and how and when to use them. For this course a tripod is necessary because we will be taking multiple images of the same scene to see how the light changes over time. The location for this will be at the either Wierum or Moddergat.
